"Very disappointed with our visit, we sat in the bar area and waited for drinks, husbands beer was not right even after 2pints pulled he had to settle for a different choice. We then waited a fair while to place our order for food, I ordered the plaice but asked for the samphire not to be added but was not offered an alternative , husbands burger was fine but we did have a further 45 mins wait for food to arrive. Even with a free glass of processco which came with my dish and them giving my husband his beer for free the meal was still quite expensive and they also charge for service even if they didn’t give any. Needless to say we will not be returning."

"The pub is renowned for its amazing selection of ales ciders. Usually about 10 12 draft ales. Also it is the home of Godalming Beer Works, who brew some very good ales. Try First Light, it is so well balanced. The food is also fantastic! Their large selection oif burgers has something for everyone (I had the Mexican, with home made chilli, mashed avocado, sour cream jalapenos YUM! . I should also mention that all burgers come with dressed salad, coleslaw, red cabbage slaw and their amazing triple cooked chips. These chips are very crunchy on the outside and light fluffy on the insides. Having eaten at the Hand Flowers in Marlow, I can honestly say that the triple cooked chips served at The Star are definitely superior to those of Tom Kerridge's award winning chips which were soggy."

"The pub had a lovely atmosphere and a cool rocky feel, with lovely, friendly serving staff! However the food was still the star, we had the chicken wings and two of their selection of bao buns which were all juicy and incredible, then we shared the Thai caramel pork chop and slow cooked lamb shoulder with skinny fries everything was amazing and great value too! Definitely a great place to visit for food and drinks."

"Have eaten here a few times and the food has always been very good. The hotel restaurant has a great going back in time feel and has not been modernised to much. The staff are always courteous and nothing is to much trouble. Great place to catch up with friends or family."

"Had a brilliant birthday night on Saturday at Tikki bar, at lounge bar. Everyone had a fun night, Kelvin kept everyone happy with amazing cocktails...great vibe, music !! Highly recommend for party and great bar to go to thanks Kelvin and ur tean for a lovely night!"

"My family and I made a walk before I arrived in this pub on Saturday, the januar, I went first to ask her whether she still served food (her website said they serve food til The...Waitresses in the bar (which did not wear face masks) exchanged views and then answered no. I went out and asked my partner, who is a white man, who speaks English in English to make the same question. he came back and said they told him they still serve food. we went back and asked to see the menu. They then said that they served only those who booked to eat. there were many empty tables inside and outside the pubs. the people at the table were still served for eating. but since the waitresses were not even trying to take our drinks orders, we left empty stomached. I approached the manager michelle later this day. She said defensiw that they were busy not to accommodate us. I have pointed out that it is about doing with the staff that gives me (an Asian) and my partner (a white) unconsistent botanicals. this could possibly be read as a microaggression if not racism. neither their website nor a sign at the door said that an advanced booking is essential the personal needs a better education to deal with such situations. Michael then blamed me for insulting her racist and ruining her business. I don't know about the quality of the food, but I know that the service in this pub was terrible."

"Just got back from Christmas lunch at Squires Garden Centre, Milford. Service was excellent from start to finish with generous servings of main meals Christmas pudding. Thanks to all staff who made our lunch so enjoyable we're looking forward to our next visit in 2024. Merry Christmas !!!"

"I so wanted this to be a nice pub we could return to. Unfortunately in the first instance the food was way below par. My wife had the special of the day. Tiger prawns poached with lemon, chili and olive oil. The prawns were minuscule and swimming in a tasteless liquid that looked like dishwater. The pork scratchings were stale and my mother in laws partners risotto was undercooked and under seasoned. We asked if the pork belly on the menu came with crackling. Staff said yes- definitely did not. Is it too much to ask for the staff to know the dishes on the menu? Service as mentioned by some people was terrible. We waited over an hour for our main course and waiters were few and far between. The spicy margarita which was described as coming with jalapeño came with plain red chili and no salt. Disappointing."
