We were looking for a friendly place to bring 2 families of kids for dinner and Heritage 3059 did not disappoint.

Great venue, lots of open space and big deck area food is great but must make a booking as kitchen gets quite busy. Gets quite busy over summers especially

"Present energy allows all the classic traits of what one wants when they’re visiting a new town; one typically wants to be reminded of their childhood. I am obsessed with going to places that help me feel like I’ve stepped back into time, a time when money didn’t coax us to embrace an identity gently and somewhat harshly defined by social structures…I was free and in a way, I believe that we are all seeking that freedom, that sort of innocence what is it about that time in our lives that we are always try to ‘get back’…is it that sentimentality that we can access without all the rubbish of negative attachments in our current states…in that moment of remembering we actually can hold dear the feeling of idealism without having the inner critic over for tea. In the case of this general store there is a safety net, an ability to easily let go…the decor and attention to detail give obvious permission and a sweet invitation; you are free to believe in the good parts of life, the kind that bring community together, the kind where kids play in the streets, the kind where your neighbours say hello and we are not too busy to enjoy each other…the invitation is to free yourself from yourself…come be a part of something, the something that has happened and the something that is happening now. Perhaps the invitation is to extend the line of sight beyond the daily….to encompass a bigger picture…a part of your imagination, the dreamer in you….the one that wanted more before the world told one to shrink down into a perfect duplicate of everyone else. We will love you…just be like them. Walk through the door at Merrick’s and we’ll give you a cup of coffee, a nice meal and perhaps a bit of oxygen."
