"Little Italy is a chain of vegetarian Italian restaurants distributed throughout India today. It started with a single restaurant in Pune years ago and it was a refreshing model in India. But now has success to their heads and like many other chain restaurants, money making is the only model. In the name of the candlelight experience, there is hardly any lighting in the restaurant, so it is impossible to read the menu, see the food and check the bill. When I pointed out, I was told that they had problems with their lighting! How many upscale restaurants would keep it open and run if they have a problem with lighting! Only in India. We had ordered wine together with soup, pizza and salad. The food arrived and there was no sign of wine. When I pointed out, they realized that wine is a drink and not a dessert! Salad is served in a deep bowl that makes it very difficult to eat with a fork and cnive. The reason is that in India all Indians eat all the kitchen in a family style, i.e. You all dishes around the table, even if the menu item is an individual plated item, a concept that is completely foreign in India. Where else in the world you can order soup one of two, i.e. one order served 2 people! Of course, well before the bill came, there was already a sticker shock in the menu. I have eaten regularly in Little Italy in Pune, and the prices here were completely out of sync with the reality of eating in India in various categories of restaurants. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a family of 12 with 6 children running a racket and children and jumping around as if it were a playground. When I complained to one of the servers in a tie, he nodded (whatever that means in India) and of course did nothing about it. In the end, I had to go to the table and give them a piece of my mind. With this kind of prices and this type of service they definitely have no tip from me."
