"This beautiful little gem of a restaurant checks all the boxes! The food is amazing, our waiter, Eric, is knowledgeable and personable. It’s clear that he has not only tasted the dishes (and has a fine palate) but he also knows how they’ve been prepared. It’s the perfect size, the background music is relaxing but unobtrusive and the food starts with excellent quality ingredients and is elevated from there with a creative hand. I lived in Maine for many years but the scallops I had here rivaled any I’ve eaten off the boat. Not a speck of grit and that’s hard to get in even the finest restaurants in New England. My partners duck was perfectly done and the accompaniments always enhance the star of the plate, never overpower. I don’t drink wine but my partner has raved about the wines he’s had. They always do something a bit unexpected, the kale Caesar salad had a dressing made with tonnato rather than anchovy, lush and creamy! The pecan cake is made with polenta so it’s dense and full of pecans with a crispy bottom, served cold with crème fraiche, it’s the perfect ending to a memorable experience."

"Had a dry brisket and ribs, little disappointing even though it tasted okay. Burger for my wife was dry as well. Wings appetizer was pretty good. Would give it a second try not a bad place."

"I alway enjoy whatever cocktail I get from Ballyhoo, and my last visit there was no different. One of the best bars in town in my opinion with very reasonably priced drinks and excellent customer service. Not a very large bar space, but definitely worth checking out. They do serve a limited food menu as well, but I have not tried any yet."

"Went for Thursday night wing special and got two single orders (Korea BBQ and Sriracha Honey). The wings were a good size and tasteful. Note that they deliver their wings a little if you don't like that, let them know when you order. Also a few different craft beers and spirits per bartender recommendations and they knew their stuff. Definitely worth a second visit to try something else next time."

"Love this place. Breezed through Buffalo and stayed at the Lafayette, what a gem to have on the ground floor. Delicious coffee, had both baked goods and bagel sandwiches and iced coffee for two mornings in a row. Quite busy at 8am opening, but their counter staff is very friendly and their system efficient. Said hello to the owner James when he handed me my baked goods, told him I would want my own coffee shop to look and run just like Public if I were to open one. Highly recommend!"

"Great place, awesome atmosphere and always something to talk about. The walls of this place are filled with everything presidential. It's really cool to take a walk around and check out what's hidden in plain sight. The food is great too which is served late which is awesome since most places dont stay open past 9pm anymore. The food is prepared right there in the small kitchen with just a grille, there is no fryer so dont come expecting fried bar food.They also do monthly trivia events, so if you're interested in that, get the details and show up early or else there wont be a table available for ya.P.s. they have popcorn and nachos!"
