"We stumbled upon the restaurant while in NYC for the holiday and what a surprise it was for our family. After being in the service industry 30+ years, I know a thing or two. The lighting in the restaurant was so pleasing. A nice soft glow. Also, very cool wall architecture. We did not have a reservation and at 630 they found the room for us. The service was outstanding. Aside from the waiter, we had no less than four other people taking care of us at one point. Polite, efficient and graceful. We started with the Wellfleet oysters super luscious and tasted of the sea. The only negative; no spoon to serve to migionette and/or cocktail sauce. For entrees, the ladies had the Red Snapper with pattypan squash and Salmon Gochujang rice. Terrific. I had the Lamb Chops with a Moroccan rub and yakitori glaze. Phenomenal. Dessert also didn't disappoint. Creme Brulee was top of the list. Fresh Vanilla bean throughout. The ladies had sour cream layer cake and cheesecake parfait with carmel poached peaches. Unbelievable. To finish it off, I had a 2009 Sauternes which was out of this world. The menu is small but there is something for everyone. We did not see the bathrooms but most patrons really don't use that to rate an establishment but it can be important. 5 stars. We will be back. John Fuller Waterford, CT"

"I learned about this place from @missconciergenyc who gives the best recommendations in NYC … we visited American Whiskey before a Knicks game; super convenient to MSG. Our servers Roxie and Matt were awesome! Matt was very knowledgeable about whiskey and bourbon and made some great suggestions. They have a large selection a whiskey and they have a $8 whiskey of the day on happy hour which works well for a mixed drink. I’d recommend this place if you’re in the area and want to try different whiskeys."

"My friends and I were starving and just looking for a place to grab something quick and move on. The place looked great from the outside and smelt amazing so we decided to give it a try. We were one of only a few tables in there at that time. Our waiter was NOT good. He was attentive right away and then stayed behind the bar and looked at us the entire time. We wanted to order food but came to find out that there was no side included with a 20 dollar burger. That was going to be 8 dollars more. Safe to say we just ordered some expensive apps instead and moved on to a different place. Our chips were stale and our flatbread was burnt. We choked it down and had to sit for too long before our waiter came over to see if we needed anything. Also no toilet paper either. Wasn’t a great experience."
