"My husband and I visited Niagara on the lake last weekend and had planned dinner in a local restaurant that was unfortunately closed. A woman in one of the shops we visited was vegan and recommended we try Treadwell. We came in at 5:30 on a Saturday, and they were kind enough to reach us before their busy time at 7:30. The menu shows that they can offer vegan options and after a short speech with the cook, the man who welcomed us gave us two options for each appetizer and main course. Since it is a farm to table concept, I suspect that the menu often changes, but my husband got a parsnip soup, I got a mushroom salad, and we both had the mushroom risotto for the main. They had made Sorbet in the house for dessert. All courses were delicious, and the mushrooms were very good. They also served home made bread with oil and vinegar, which was very delicious. We sat at the bar looking at an open kitchen that was interesting to see. Our server was very friendly and the entire staff seemed to understand veganism. It was very cozy at a cool night and looks like it would open a terrace in summer that would be pleasant. We enjoyed the food and were glad to have a high quality vegan option on our trip!"
