"First, what they did right. The wonton soup was perfect as were the egg rolls. Our server was quick and friendly. Now, this is where it fell apart. We ordered the combination dishes for 1 and they were huge, but too much to be crammed and piled onto one plate. The noodle dish was so starchy that it was just a sticky glow that you had to cut apart to eat (obviously not rinsed). The almond guy ding tasted like the chicken was cooked long before, then battered and refried as the chicken was unbelievably dry. The gracy was a tasteless goo from a can and the water chestnuts tasted like they had picked up the can flavor. One of the staff came over and asked if she could cook us something else, but by that time, we were turned off. Too bad as we liked the personnel, but the cook needs some training."

"Fast and friendly service is the hallmark of this place which used to be the Brown Dog Cafe - scones and apple dumplings still rule for sweets to go along with your libation. Enjoy!"

"Do you love The Other Bird restaurants? Love the Mule? Love Rapscallion? Love Two Black Sheep? Well if you do, don't go here! You'll be super disappointed. The food was just so so. We are major foodies and love the hamilton food scene. This fell far below the Hamilton scene. We got the arugula salad and mussels to start. The arugula salad was terrible. Literally just lettuce with 5 slices of radish. And it was dry. I had to ask for dressing because there was no moisture on the salad. For $13 I just couldn't believe the lack of flavour. My boyfriend had the mussels. Good portion. Good flavour. Nothing too exciting though. This was good value for what he got. The entrees .... we got the feature. "7oz tenderloin with prawns and a lobster cream sauce for $40." We ordered them rare. They did not come rare.... not even close. Medium would be generous. Light brown/light pink throughout. Rare means red, and shiny and we'd expect a high end restaurant to perform especially at $40/plate. 2 prawns ... they were a decent size. The "lobster cream sauce" had no evidence of lobster. Not one chunk. It was more like a generic cream sauce. Didn't even have a lobster flavour. So disappointing! I couldn't even believe we paid $40/plate for that. The service was good. Super friendly waitress. Overall huge disappointment in terms of food quality/flavour for value. Not at all to the caliber of the Mule, Rapscallion, or 2 black sheep."
