"Merkanto Street has been one of the most awaited stops during our Maginhawa food crawl. With J’s new found love for banh mi and R’s interest in Indian food, we had to make sure that we head here as soon as when the clock strikes 4 p.m..<br>

Hello, Merkanto Street International Street Food! (Whew, that’s a mouthful.)<br>

The humble car wash and food park in one was empty when we got there around 4:30 p.m. and sadly, there was only one stall open at that time as most open at 5 p.m.. This made choosing easier as we’re stuck with Viet Nom, a stall that sells Vietnamese dishes. (Check Viet Nom for my review about its dishes.)<br>

Since we were still there at 5 p.m., R2 went with a Roti from the Indian stall and shared it with us. <br>
<br>
We failed to convince J to try the curry dip but he was game enough to put a dot of garlic sauce on his piece of Roti. I tried both dips and as much as I love the white sauce, I enjoyed the roti more with the curry dip. The curry flavor was...

"Merkanto's concept of putting together famous street foods from different countries was really amazing. People can enjoy variety of dishes in just one food park. Merkanto offers street food from Morocco, Indonesia, India, Brazil, and Vietnam.<br>

Surprisingly, merkanto is located inside a carwash..so while enjoying their food, customers can also avail carwash services.<br>
<br>
The food carts are designed per country's theme. There are few tables and chairs. There's also a sink installed in a bicycle, but my favorite was the lights in the bamboo that were decorated to look like a tree branches. <br>

Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br>
I had the Maakouda (P60) from Morocco and chicken satay (P50/stick) from Indonesia food cart. The maakouda, as described by the server was a deep fried mashed potato topped with mayonnaise, cheese and herbs. This dish was delicious, a combination of soft and crisp. The chicken satay was grilled to perfection. It has peanut butter sauce which compliments the juicy chicken.<br>

Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️<br>
Everyone was really nice. Customers are very much curious with the dishes they are serving thus they have many questions and all the crews were very much happy to answer and help their customers decide on what to try.<br>

The only reason why i wanted to swing by Merkanto is the Sadak. I love Indian Food and i am the only one in my family that happens to like this type of cuisine.<br>
<br>
Me and my homies arrived a lil early and Sadak is still closed. This is a test of my EQ. We ate some Vietnamese food first, this appeased me a lil bit.<br>

India stall opened shortly after we finished eating our Vietnamese grub. <br>
<br>
I got some Roti for takeway, significant other duties. CMA misses the Roti with curry dip at the now defunct Long Grain at Power Plant. He seems happy with the India's version of pancake. The curry lacks the flavor I'm looking for but it's decent. The roti retained it's soft x chewy texture the morning after."
