"Located in the old town of Mertola just down from the castle this restaurant has lovely views over the river valley below. There is a large open terrace upstairs and indoor seating downstairs.The menu is good and fairly comprehensive. Prices are reasonable. I had chicken in a cheese and cream sauce. It sounds horrible but it was actually lovely and beautifully cooked. Others in our party had steak and pork - both equally good. I also had the largest glass of wine I've ever had and priced at only 2 Euros.The service was good and the waitress very friendly, but we wouldn't have minded waiting because it was lovely to sit and enjoy the views. A lovely evening.We will definitely return here."

"We paid EUR 15 each for starter, meat, salad/fries, dessert, wine and water. And the meat was one of the best on Portugal. Needless to say, one of our best meal ever. than that, the owner speaks very good German and Italian, the two...sons an excellent English!"
