"Obsessed with this place, first time here and I will definitely will be back! We got seated in a secluded area where you have to take your shoes off and sit on the floor. What's great is if you don't want to sit with your legs crossed there's room under the table to sit normal with your legs dangling. Staff was super friendly and quick. And really paid attention to when they table needed to be clean or waters needed a refill. They're known for the omakase sashimi and Kaisen Don. I had to get it and they did not disappoint, I see why it's popular! I got a volcano roll and white dragon roll. Both delicious, but the volcano roll was my fav! They also have a LOBSTER DON! It's not on the menu yet but you can ask for it. It was unreal. The lobster was sweet and tasty. A must order. They also have yakitori which was very good. Everything is so fresh and high quality."

"Don 't order their miso soup unless you 're craving warm water, and don 't order anything to go unless you have your own chopsticks, wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce on hand. For the second time, I received just the plain roll with nothing else in my take out order. It does not seem like they care about to go orders, as tonight is my second time with this same problem although, to be fair, the first time around I got chopsticks. I naively assumed the first time was a mistake and tried my best to enjoy a mediocre roll with a plastic fork I was able to find and no soy sauce or wasabi. I 'm leaving this review to caution anyone when ordering from here if you 're in an area where you don 't have access to utensils and other condiments . It seems that nobody is supervising the food expediting/processing of to go orders. The food is not even close to good enough and way too expensive to be eaten without the basics I know that because I did that last time I ordered too. Also, I 've never met a miso soup I didn 't like until ordering from Akita Sushi."

"It had been a few years since we last came here, as evidenced by the gift card we tried to use but no longer worked with their system. The staff was very helpful in honoring the gift card despite this.I like this place because it's a short walk from Santana Row and the prices are much more reasonable than most of the restaurants there.We walked in shortly after they opened for lunch and our food came out in no more than 5 minutes. The fish was fresh and the rolls themselves were tasty! I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in the mood for sushi in this area."

"Really average food. We came here despite knowing it'd be mediocre by just seeing the pictures because it was near somewhere we needed to go, and it was what I expected except the total turned out to be more expensive than I thought at almost $80 xDThe tonkatsu was dry and super thin. The torched salmon belly was a really small portion. All the fish in the sushi was not good quality and just okay. I literally don't have any other words to describe it but I'd rather eat somewhere else. Maybe people who like it only get rolls here?"

"To start, a bird flew in just before I got there. They handled getting it out well and safely. It was heart warming to see how much they cared about not having it in the restaurant but also about getting it out safely without a fuss. They were gentle and kind and effective. The same can be said for their food. They care a lot. The rolls are large and hard to eat in one bite. But if you bite them in half, they will fall apart. I got the Precision Roll which was good. I also got the Vege Roll and while I loved the components, it did not feel cohesive. Their Nigori? On point. The cucumber and avocado rolls, a surprise shining star. Both of those rolls had an abundant amount of cucumber or avocado. Delish. Ginger was definitely good as well. The edamame and miso were so on point, I could cry. Edamame is hard to cook to the right firmness and salt correctly and they nailed it. The ambiance was relaxing and fit with all the other elements: almost amazing but somehow lacking cohesion. Would definitely eat here again. Overall delish and may have missed the mark a bit, but definitely worth the price and the care that is so incredibly obvious."
