"The food was really bland and overpriced. The sushi was ok and the vegetable teriyaki tasted bad. It was partially fried vegetables with some sort of store bought teriyaki sauce pour on top. Do not recommend."

"Ex-employee here. The owner at this restaurant almost only cares about sales and cost control, even sometimes this means lower the quality of food and exhaust the employees. We were unfairly payed for the amount of the work we had to do. Sushi Shop tried to brand itself as a higher end “fast food sushi”, but it’s menu items are way too huge and some of the sushi rolls are extremely complicated to make, it’s like using fast food quality ingredients to make fine dining sushi, employees could become so stressed, but we get payed the same as a fast food worker."
In Nepean, traditional courses are prepared in the kitchen of Sushi Shop with typical Asian spices scrumptious, and healthy Japanese meals are being made with lots of fresh vegetables, fish and meat. "Good rolls other menu items are 'meh '. I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation of the larger rolls (ex: Dynamite). A lot of AYCE sushi places in Ottawa, I find, cheap out on those rolls but not this place. Dim sum was also good, however other items on the menu are very hit and miss. Oysters were not worth it mostly batter and hardly any actual oyster. Meat was on the dry side. And don 't bother with the soba/udon it 's basically water even if you ask for the spicy kind they just put sriracha on top and call it spicy.<br/ <br/ I did enjoy the rolls and had one very attentive and nice waitress. So overall, it was a good experience with some hit miss items."

"Are they aware. they invite children to their height! my 10 years old is 147 cm high. when it was measured in the restaurant, it grew wonderfully to 150 cm. surprising surprise we found that the restaurant considered them at 150 cm as an adult at $34. for dinner. What a money! the service was terrible and very rude. we ordered 2 parts of the general tao and the server asked us if we would like to try it first before we start our order with 2 portions. I am all about supporting local shops, but this place is absolutely terrible. stay away and save her money!"
