"We have reservations for 6:00 P.M. We arrived at 5:30 P.M. We said it was a 1/2 hour waiting. When I posted our reservation, we were told: “We do not take reservations.” We waited the 1 1/2 hours and didn't sit yet. Then they told us it was another 45 minutes. We decided to get our food instead of waiting for a seat. During waiting I observed the following: The food workers wore plastic gloves while they prepared food, but driped sweat from their heads and arms, over the pizza dough they rolled out. I saw a worker drop of pizza pans on the floor behind the counter, just to pick them off the floor, wipe them with his apron he also used to sweat from his forehead, and then used them to make pizza. Then another employee who prepared pizza dough wore gloves while he treated the food, picked up a ring phone with his gloves, took an order and then hanged on the phone after the order. He then grabbed a napkin from the counter, wiped the sweat from his forehead with his still handhand and went back to rolling / tosing pizzas with the same gloves without ever washing his hands. It's gonna make someone sick and unlived. All the time, the manager stood at the counter and didn't tell the employees. I pointed out the unobstructed conditions that I observed to the manager who threatened me with oversight. We went out without order. I warned all my friends, relatives and employees about these restaurants practices, and hopefully, now you were warned and we can stop someone from getting sick. I also reported the Riverside County Department of Health."

"This was not our first time there. But something was off I ordered Cesar salad that had no anchovies though I saw next table had plenty on theirs. Hardly had any dressing I was basivly eating lettuce. We ordered 2 calamari sticks one was full the other was two thirds, one of the marinara sauce was only half full. It was just weird. I wondered if it was because we didn't order an entree. The only good thing was the ice cream that is why it is 3 stars. If not I won't give it even 2. Hope they are not adopting lower standards as they had always been great"

"Cafe Italia is a very small place with only 20 seats, max. This smaller size allows the cook to make quality dishes, only with fresh, or restaurant made pasta, sauces and the like, which are locally unqualed in Italian restaurants. I would definitely call before and make a reservation as the excellent quality of the food here has the tables full in all hours. Hands down, for me the best Italian food in the southern coast of Massachusetts. BYOW and an appetite, as the boss and the hostess make sure you get the freshest, and delicious dishes I had the pleasure to try in the last few months. Mangia!"
