"Several years ago I joined the Bowlo because of the great reputation of the then caterers. I was only a member for for a month when the caterers moved on and were replaced with a sub-standard cook. What a difference now. The food is great...and the meals are large. I had the Prawn and Chorizo pasta and was unable to finish. The waitress gave me a take-away container and it fed me for lunch next day!! All in all a great meal in casual but friendly surroundings."

"They still advertise hand cut chips on their web site - they lie. They are now frozen chips that are no longer gluten free. None if their menu is gluten free any more. This is yet another place not to eat in Newcastle. I would not recommend it to any one. Service is rushed, impersonal and incredibly slow- I stood in line for 20 min to be told there was a 35 min wait for food. On double checking, none of there food is gluten free any more.DISGUSTED"

"This is a great place to stay overnight and for food. We had the haloumi burger and the Superfood salad with chicken. Everything was delicious, the portions generous and they also have a good selection of drinks. The staff are lovely and the environment/vibe funky and welcoming. The room was clean and modern. Recommended."
