"I have been associated with Uplift Northwest since 2010. Originally my relationship with the organization was based on knowledge of their services in order to refer clients. I had been the Director of Operations for a well established non profit based in Seattle for almost 10 years. This was when Uplift was known as the Millionaires Club. My staff and interns always held this agency in the highest regard.Reason being we knew, whoever we referred to them would be treated with respect and introduced to options that would better their situations .The staff has transitioned over time but I have never experienced any mission drift or misrepresentation whatsoever.I left Seattle in 2019.I returned during Covid and was dealing with divorce, custody battle, mental health and addiction issues. My return back was not.easy. I found myself homeless and on the streets living In tents with the same people I once mentored and served .Depression gripped me so tightly I could not see any positive outcomes to my situation..I had become lost within myself and had no idea how or where to turn .Most agencies were closed due to Covid..I walked into Uplift Northwest after a year or so homeless with my head hung low.I was ashamed and embarrassed. The stigma you carry when you are homeless is tragic and weighs you downThe staff welcomed me without hesitation. They did not over screen me .They met me where I was at and assisted me in getting employment , housing , eye glasses and self worth .I have been employed through them and private interests now for over 2 yearsHolding a job and an apartment after 3 years of loss is a struggle in itself. Addiction is its own monster as well.I have comfort when I get laid off or fired due to the fact that Uplift and it 's amazing , beautiful staff exist.I am currently employed because for them. I do not receive any welfare or other assistance because of them. When other agencies encourage you to give up and collect. Uplift never has done anything but be on my team I am able to continue to empower and motivate others with my actions and results because of Uplift. The staff has proven to me that my belief in people is not wasted. With patience , respect and the willingness to hear others when they are in need , amazing results will occur .Working with the vulnerable population is a beautiful thing to do .But when you empower that population to do for themselves and encourage self worth and develop expectations. You will repair the wounds that cause vulnerability and produce strength , courage and pride which is a human right ."

"Very fresh soy milk ! I can't say anything about everything else they sell but their soy milk is top notch and probably made daily . It is sold in half gallon jugs only for about $4.50? Cash only. Their fried dough sticks were good too but I think they're known for tofu and soy milk , is what I typically see people come here for . It is to go only on Jackson Pl side of the back door. Credit cards not accepted . Limited parking stalls , maybe 3-4 ."

"The Great Northwest Soup Co has a wide variety of sandwiches and breakfast items, but I 've only experienced the soup. Three size options are available, and none are overly priced. I thoroughly enjoyed my 'Thanksgiving Dinner ' soup, which was filled with carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, celery, and turkey. I am looking forward to trying additional options! Deducting one star for seating options however. It 's really not a sit down experience, more of a take out, but one can make it work if pressed or motivated."
